Jerez de la Frontera or Xerez is a city in the province of Cadiz, Spain. It has approximatetly 200,000 inhabitants and is just 40 kilometers from Cadiz city, and also the capital of the province. Seville is only 100 kms away as well. It is a city that has a large wine industry, famous worldwide and numerous events each year that are definately worth coming to. Jerez de la Frontera in southern Spain is the most heavily populated city in the province of Cadiz, Andalusia. It is surrounded by nature, the Natural Park of the Alcornocales (acorns), surrounded by cities with lots of interesting history from a tourist point of view, like Puerto de Santa Maria, or Sanlucar de Barrameda, but above all Jerez offers a wide range of fun things to see and do while on holiday.
Jerez offers many outdoor sports and sporting activities. Trekking, horseback riding, and golf are the main sports.
